Jill Durby, LMFT

Jill Durby is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Jill Durby graduated with honors with a B.A. in Psychology from U.C. Berkeley. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Personality and Social Research and completed a year-long research thesis investigating the relationship between body image and self-esteem.

Jill completed her M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University.  During her graduate studies, she worked as an intern providing individual therapy at the Hope House Substance Abuse Program in Anaheim.

Prior to embarking on a career as a clinician, Jill was an adjunct Psychology Professor at various community colleges throughout Orange County. She taught Introductory Psychology, Life Span Development, and Social Psychology.  

Jill completed comprehensive DBT training through Treatment Implementation Collective and received 3 years of direct supervision to practice adherent DBT in all areas: skills group training, individual sessions, and phone coaching. Her passion for the model and the skills in her own life, coupled with the transformation she has witnessed in her clients’ lives translates to enthusiasm and hope, as well as, compassion for the effort required to implement change.

Jill brings to each session empathic understanding, centeredness, and a touch of wit. Combined with proven evidence-based techniques, Jill finds great satisfaction in working with adults, adolescents, and loved ones to navigate difficulties that result from emotion dysregulation or to be in relationship with those who do.
